The identity of a place is marked by a conjunction of environments (talking, olfactory, the weather…). Although in some moments a sound, an image, a smell, or a climatic sensation floods our perception and imposes meaning onto others, we can affirm that we are always producing intersensory relations. We know close to nothing about these perceptions and how they interact together. To analyze it would be complicated work. How do we address the interactions between the sound and the visual, the sound and the olfactory, the tactile, climatic… and all of its possible interactions? With the week of sound we want to open debate and encourage lines of intersensory and interdisciplinary investigation. The holding of round table debates and conferences on this theme will be attended by artists and experts who will present on diverse compositions, installations, sound, audiovisuals, and multimedia actions.
